Our MERL System

At Remy's Foundation, we take our commitment to transparency and accountability seriously. That's why we've implemented a robust and adaptive Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) system.

This system is instrumental in planning, managing, documenting, evaluating, and learning from interventions directly and indirectly associated with our foundation. Our approach to MERL is grounded in adaptive management and provides measurable impacts. We've developed innovative methods and tools to promote rapid and accurate data collection for analysis of results.

Data-Driven Culture

Our MERL team oversees and manages MERL system design and implementation. Our MERL system promotes a data-driven culture encompassing several innovative methods for collecting, analyzing, mapping, visualizing, and sharing data.

This includes an information management dashboard, maps, and complexity-aware monitoring. Through these innovative MERL processes, our foundation will take appropriate measures to collect and use high-quality performance data to inform decision-making.

Integrated Learning

Learning is a building block that is integrated into our strategies. Our approach to learning will allow us to:

  • Strengthen collaboration and partnerships with stakeholders
  • Generate knowledge, evidence, and analysis to improve development outcomes
  • Measure achievements, identify shortcomings, and exercise flexibility for adaptive management during implementation

To complement performance monitoring, our program's participatory approach to MERL will routinely collect qualitative data to understand further results, specifically eliciting input and developing feedback loops.
